It was my first movie of the year, and it was great! In recent years, the parody genre has suffered. With productions like Epic Movie and the like, being labeled a parody film almost has a stigma attached. With Tucker and Dale, you get a quality parody film that is well crafted and hilarious. As a movie lover, it was fun to watch the typical horror/slasher film get twisted. Alan Tudyk, always fun to watch, is believeable as a hillbilly. I expected a typical performance from him, a take off from other characters he had done, but Tucker, his character, wasn't phoned in. Tyler Labine also does a good job as Dale. The two have good chemistry together and provide a great experience. While the film won't be winning any Oscars, it was a great way to strart off the New Year.
If you haven't seen Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, you should. Right now, it is available on Netflix.
