The Amazing Booda Clean Step Litter Box!

A couple weeks ago, I featured a photo of Mr. Kitty's newest treasure...the Booda Dome!  I was afraid he would be reluctant to use it, but he likes it!  More importantly, Mark and I both like it.  The Clean Step litter box, brought to you by Booda, is an excellent purchase for any cat owner.  It is a covered litter box that looks a little bit like an igloo.  Ours has steps, so when your cat exits the litter box, he doesn't track litter all over the floor; instead, it is caught on the steps.

The box also features a carbon filter to keep ucky smells in.  Now, Mr. Kitty is sometimes a jerk and refuses to bury his deposits.  That has only happened one time since purchasing the dome.  Before, when he would attempt to scoop litter onto his treasures, he would be swiping his paw outside the box.  Now, he can't do that.  If he is swiping his paw, he is grabbing litter.

Mark and I don't have a dog yet, but I imagine the dome will also keep out dogs who want to dig for buried treasure.  The top is secure, so that cat doesn't accidentally knock if off, which leads me to believe a curious pooch wouldn't have any luck either.  With ours having steps, no puppy is going to just be able to stick his head in, as the steps curve around the side a bit.

To scoop the box, you have to remove the top, which is easy.  Cleaning the litter out of the steps is easy with a handy-vac, which we have.  The only real down-side we have discovered is that no local places sell the liners for the dome.  We had to order them online.  Because of the shape, we were wary of trying to use an extra large liner.  It didn't look like it would fit right.

If you have a cat, go pick up a Booda box.  If litter tracking is an issue, spend a bit more for the Clean Step version.  We still find litter on the floor every once in a while, but it is pretty scarce now.  If you have a pup that loves to snack, he may not appreciate the box.  We were initially worried that Mr. Kitty wouldn't like going into a covered box, but he exhibited no hesitation.  I imagine your cat will love it too!
